Saint Mark’s Cathedral - 1245 10th Avenue East, Seattle

Our 27th season begins in December with glorious sounds of the holidays that will delight and enthrall you. This will be our first holiday concert at Seattle’s Saint Mark’s Cathedral, and we’ve been anticipating this event for a long time. Saint Mark’s is widely known for its spacious acoustics and its shadowed, almost monastic evening atmosphere. The rich, warm sounds of the Seattle Choral Company will definitely be on display in this magical space.

Join us as we bring ancient yuletide carols and chants into the new century—old, familiar carols designed with some modern twists! The famous Magnificat prayer will be featured in Steven Sametz’s grand multi-part setting that joins the Seattle Choral Company with the famed Flentrop Pipe Organ.

Celebrate the Jewish Festival of Lights when we present Chanukah Suite, by the brilliant Broadway composer, Jason Robert Brown.

Eric Whitacre’s sublime Winter will receive its first Seattle performance. This exotic, wintry soundscape evokes the subtle and fragile dance of snowflakes, weaving together the elements of voices, strings, harp and the Indian sitar into a dream-like event of incredible beauty.

We hope you will be with us to share the music, the wonder, and the traditions that we all enjoy during the month of December.
